How to get here?

From the E6 at Rotsund, you’ll need to take a ferry to reach Havnnes. The crossing takes about 10 minutes.

The Store

The store at Havnnes is a small, charming general store that has served the local community and visitors for generations. Located right by the harbour, it offers a selection of everyday groceries, snacks, fishing gear, and essentials.

The Apartment

We’ve renovated the old shrimp factory. On the second floor, we’ve furnished a cosy apartment with four beds, plus a sofa bed in the living room. There are two bedrooms, each with two single beds. The bathroom features a double sink, toilet, and rain shower. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. A small seating area is placed outside the entrance where you can sit and relax.

Banken

“Banken” is located in the heart of the historic settlement at Havnnes. The house is of an exclusive standard and is ideal for those seeking something a little extra. It features 2 (3) bedrooms with 4 (6) beds. The name “Banken” (“The Bank”) originates from the building’s history, as it housed Skjervøy Sparebank for 55 years.

Parts of the house date back to 1854 or earlier, when it was described as a “general store with an office.” The basement was once used to store paraffin, lamp oil, turpentine, linseed oil, and more. On the west end, there was a carpenter’s workshop with a loft apartment for staff, which was used until after the war.

Wågen

The “Wågen House” is a charming home located just up the hill. The house is 180 square meters over two floors and features a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living room, a washing machine, and scenic views of the Lyngen Alps, Rotsund, and the historic trading post. The house is of a high standard and offers both a veranda and a large garden.

Messa

“Messa” offers two newly renovated apartments, each accommodating up to 5 guests. These charming units are part of the old settlement and reflect the area’s history. The house was built in 1949, replacing the original “Størhuset,” which once contained a large bread oven and a built-in iron cauldron. The house was primarily used during autumn slaughtering to prepare the winter meat supply. The iron cauldron was used for both making traditional dairy spread (prim) and boiling laundry.

On the second floor, there was once a servants’ quarters (“drengestue”). Since the new construction in 1949, the house has been used to accommodate the company’s full-time staff who came from outside the area.

Borgerstua

“Bårstua”, also known as “Borgerstua”, is a small but charming house with a good standard and four beds. It is located among the historic buildings at Havnnes. When Havnnes held a guesthouse license, there was an obligation to provide accommodation for boatmen, fishermen, and others who needed shelter for various reasons.

Per Arne

The “Per Arne” House is a cosy home located up the hill, offering a fantastic view of the Lyngen Alps, the Lyngenfjord, Havnnes, and Rotsundet.

The house features a large terrace with seating and a grill.

It features four bedrooms with a total of six beds, a spacious living room equipped with a wood-burning stove, one bathroom, two separate toilets, a washing machine, and a dedicated drying room.
